1. What does creative Birmingham mean to you?

It’s a statement about the creative class. The innovators who challenge the status quo.

2. What would you like to see happen in Birmingham in the next 5 years?

I’d like to see the World’s eye turn its attention to the Magic City. There’s so much to discover here.

3. Mandela opens this week at Red Mountain Theatre Company; what can you tell us about it?

It will be a unique look at multi media narratives in theater. People will hear sides of Mandela’s story that contradict their perception of the iconic figure’s life.

4. What lessons do you think we can learn from the legacy of Nelson Mandela?

Hope is the root of his legacy for me. His power and willingness to forgive were rare traits. He challenged the idea that things are too difficult to overcome.

5. What do you like about the Birmingham theatre scene?

It’s open to new ideas and growing with the times. It’s great to watch the scene evolve.
