Since 2018, Film Birmingham, an initiative of Create Birmingham, has facilitated productions totaling over $60 million. Birmingham is of course home to Sidewalk Film Festival + Cinema, as well as a thriving film community, and our city is emerging as a popular backdrop for both independent productions and large-budget movies. We are so excited when all those elements come together and we get to see our cumulative efforts on the big screen.
Next Friday, November 15, Line of Duty, shot in Birmingham in the summer of 2018, will premiere at Sidewalk Cinema. Starring Aaron Eckhart and directed by Steven C. Miller, this action thriller follows the story of a disgraced cop who seeks redemption when he goes rogue in an attempt to save the police chief’s abducted daughter.
