BIRMINGHAM, AL – Next month, Create Birmingham will introduce The Business of Creating, a new webinar series designed to provide arts & culture organizations with insights, resources, and tools to grow effectively and sustainably.

These conversations, with guest experts on topics including marketing, strategic planning, fundraising, board development, finance and legal issues, and community collaboration, will be tailored to the needs of arts practitioners, with in-depth discussion about strategies, opportunities, and challenges in the sector.

Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance, as well during the webinar, and are invited to book a follow-up Office Hour for a one-on-one consultation with Create Birmingham staff. Recordings will be shared with participants after each webinar and will be available for viewing for 30 days.

The first two workshops will focus on marketing strategy, reaching new audiences, and stabilizing and growing your nonprofit organization:

Wednesday, August 11 from 11:30 to 1:00
Marketing Strategy with Jacqui Jones, CEO of One Degree Marketing

Your marketing strategy is critical to building awareness of your organization, reaching new audiences, and connecting with your current audience. With so many platforms and so little time, how do you effectively promote your work while you also focus on creating it?

Wednesday, August 25 from 11:30 to 1:00

Strategic Planning with Autumn Sanders Foster, CEO of Quire Consulting
A strategic plan is key to both stabilizing and growing your nonprofit, but all too often nonprofits are either struggling to create a strategic plan or struggling to bring an existing plan to life. How do you craft and execute a strategic plan that keeps you moving forward instead of in circles?

More details on Create Birmingham’s September and October installments of The Business of Creating, which will focus on grantseeking and board development, will be announced in August.
