CO.STARTERS PATIENT LOAN PROGRAM

In partnership with the Birmingham Business Resource Center, Create Birmingham will recruit two businesses that will benefit from a $20,000 loan with patient terms. These businesses should be able to utilize these funds for concrete and tangible business purposes. Examples of these may include business facility improvement, adding staff, purchasing machinery and equipment, and or acquiring inventory. BBRC has specifically asked for businesses participating to not use this money for marketing or other intangible means.

The selected participants will be identified in January 2022 with loan funds released shortly thereafter. Recipients must be willing to work with the BBRC to track loan metrics, including monthly financial statements.

Again, we want to reiterate that this loan is only open to CO.STARTERS Graduates.

PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS

Once selected, you’ll be provided with ongoing technical assistance, coaching, and counseling. You’ll engage with financial professionals, accountants, and counselors that we bring into this program.

The businesses selected should, at a minimum, have and provide quality financial statements. They should also commit to maintaining accurate financial records and provide them for monthly review, as well as attend monthly counseling sessions. The BBRC will deploy a program that will help measure and track the impact of these loans. Our goals are to provide coaching suggestions that are immediately actionable and to provide a faster and easier way of tracking progress towards desired results.

The BBRC Community Investment Loan is a partnership between Birmingham Business Resource Center, Create Birmingham, ¡HICA!, and Urban Impact.
