Homewood Theatre is ready to get Rotten to the Core with this popular Disney musical about children of our favorite Disney heroes and villains. We hope you will join us!

Auditions are January 18th and 19th
Rehearsals February-April
Shows April 25th, 26th, and 27th in Homewood Central Park

Students K-12th grade are invited to audition. Audition sign ups will open later in October.

(6th-12th Grade) Love D&D? Join the Teen Department and play this classic tabletop RPG with other teens. All levels are welcome. Register for each session online at homewoodpubliclibrary.org.

We’ll be meeting at 8:30 a.m. for a brief safety talk and get everyone the supplies they need. We have trash grabbers, extra gloves, safety vests, and trash bags for everyone. If you have your own gloves, feel free to bring them and a bottle of water. We suggest bringing a small backpack to carry any needed personal supplies while you’re walking.

Meeting at 8:30. Pickup will begin by 9 a.m. and finish up around 12 p.m.!

(Preschool) Explore all kinds of fantastical worlds with Miss Cheyenne’s storytime as we sing and dance through different faerie tales. Perfect for energetic toddlers!

Join us as Sid Burgess and Julie Stewart present story time for adults, which features classic short stories that captivate as well as entertain. The stories, written by notable authors, are read aloud. No registration is required, so drop by for some nostalgic fun.

(Adult) The book club for adults who love young adult books. This month's book is Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. Sophie has the great misfortune of being the eldest of three daughters, destined to fail miserably should she ever leave home to seek her fate. But when she unwittingly attracts the ire of the Witch of the Waste, Sophie finds herself under a horrid spell that transforms her into an old lady. (Preschool) Join us for a good ol’ time with Miss Aaliyah’s energizing storytime to get everyone ready for the day!

Join us as we discuss Colm Toibin’s bestselling novel Brooklyn. Eilis Lacey, for one of the most unforgettable characters in contemporary literature, has come of age in small-town Ireland in the hard years following World War Two. When an Irish priest from Brooklyn offers to sponsor Eilis in America, she decides she must go, leaving her fragile mother and her charismatic sister behind. (Preschool) Fire up your imagination and tinker around with friends for some Loose Parts Play after Miss Erika’s fun-filled storytime!

(K-5th Grade) Learn basic American Sign Language with our friends from the Alabama Institute of Blind and Deaf, which includes fun games and activities perfect for all ages.

(6th-12th Grade) This bi-monthly program will focus on teaching the performing arts to aspiring teen thespians with assistance from the Red Mountain Theatre. Register online at homewoodpubliclibrary.org.
