"I wanted this place to be a more inviting space than many record stores tend to be.... Our goal is to be a space that makes people feel comfortable and welcome, purchasing whatever music they love. That’s why we make an effort to host community events that connect us to the city at large, more so than just being a retail store."
After five years in Crestwood, Seasick Records has outgrown its beloved location and will relocate to Avondale. Daniel Drinkard, Seasick's owner and one of our original CO.STARTERS graduates, announced that they will officially re-open on Thursday, March 5th in the former Family Dollar space next to Mom's Basement, the retro-inspired live music venue and bar that Daniel co-owns.
"My writing now is reflective of my life now, and that centers around the norms of adulthood: being a caretaker, a friend, a spouse. I suppose that’s songwriting in your 40s."
