JCMP Fellows Report Release

The community is invited to join the Jefferson County Memorial Project at the Birmingham Museum of Art on Thursday, February 20th at 6 pm as the JCMP Fellows from our six local colleges present their new research on our county's history of racial terror, including the discovery of previously undocumented victims.
The Jefferson County Memorial Project is a grassroots coalition, formed in response to the opening of the Equal Justice Initiatives’ National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, to facilitate a local reckoning with Jefferson County’s history of racial terror violence. JCMP believes that this step towards contrition and reconciliation will be an opportunity for the citizens of Jefferson County to confront our difficult past and advocate for social justice in the present.
