Two small-budget movies are filming in Birmingham this November and December. According to Create Birmingham’s Interim President and CEO Jessica Moody, two films are scheduled to be shot in the Magic City this month and December.
The State of Alabama and the City of Birmingham both have poet laureates in Ashley Jones and Salaam Green, respectively. Meet Karima Moor, Birmingham’s first Youth Poet Fellow, who considers herself just an ordinary young adult with a passion to create and deep love for writing.
It is with mixed emotions that we announce the upcoming departure of Meghann Bridgeman. Meghann has served as CEO of Create Birmingham since early 2021. In January, Meghann will join The Alabama Department of Commerce as Director of the Alabama Film Office. We are excited for Meghann and know she will make a significant impact for all of Alabama.
