Announcement from the Board of Directors of Create Birmingham

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the upcoming departure of Meghann Bridgeman. Meghann has served as CEO of Create Birmingham since early 2021. In January, Meghann will join The Alabama Department of Commerce as Director of the Alabama Film Office. We are excited for Meghann and know she will make a significant impact for all of Alabama.

From scrap to sculpture: Joe Minter’s art reflects Birmingham’s pain and joy

Artists often use their surroundings to influence their work. In the case of Birmingham artist Joe Minter, his sculptures can’t be separated from his life in the city – literally.
