Create Birmingham helps artists, designers, makers, and cultural producers turn ideas into sustainable careers by offering business education, funding opportunities, and access to markets. The goal is to ensure creative talent in Birmingham has the tools, knowledge, and support needed to grow, adapt, and thrive long-term.

In partnership with Red Mountain Theater, Councilor Crystal Smitherman is pleased to present the fifth annual YouthSpeak: A Celebration of Black History event. The showcase is free to the public and will feature dance, choir performances, a poetry competition and more from local students.

The Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame is thrilled to welcome The Birmingham Youth Jazz Ensemble for a captivating live jazz performance. New York–based trombonist and educator, Calvin Sexton, is bringing together members from the Birmingham Youth Jazz Ensemble featuring members from 1994–2005, for an Alumni Concert like no other!
